Are you passionate about contemporary art and an overall organizational talent? Then we are looking for you! From August 1st until December 15th, we have room for an all-round intern to join the Amsterdam Art Weekend 2018 team.

During Amsterdam Art Weekend the newest and latest developments within the field of contemporary art are showcased to a broad audience. Over 50 of Amsterdam’s most cutting edge venues will be working together to present an extensive program including exhibitions, performances, screenings and debates. The city’s diverse network of galleries, project spaces, art institutions and residency programs attracts art professionals and enthusiasts from all over the world, turning Amsterdam into an international art hub for the occasion.

Amsterdam Art Weekend is organized by the Amsterdam Art Foundation, an umbrella organization that initiates and realizes collaborations between various cultural parties whilst acting as a compass for art enthusiasts. Amsterdam Art Weekend 2018 will take place from 22-25 November.  

Internship Amsterdam Art Weekend 2018
32 hours per week, August 1 – December 15 (dates flexible) 

As our all-round intern you will play an important role in the preparations for Amsterdam Art Weekend 2018. As part of a small team you will be given the opportunity to gain experience with all of the different aspects of organizing a large scale event; from programming all the way to production. You will be supporting the Event Coördinator and the PR & Communications Coördinator through various key activities, such as compiling information for the program, maintaining contact with event partners, coaching volunteers and assuming responsibility for smaller productions. During the Art Weekend itself, you are widely employable and able to keep a good overview.

Desirable profile:
•             Higher Professional Education / University-level intellectual ability and work skills
•             Affinity with contemporary art
•             Strong organizational skills
•             Excellent communication skills; verbal as well as in writing (Dutch is preferable)
•             Representative, copes well with stress, social and enthusiastic
•             A flexible and independent attitude

What we offer:
A very inspiring work environment and the opportunity to build up a broad network within the contemporary arts field. We offer a compensation of €250,- a month, based on an internship of four days a week. It is also possible to gain work experience if you are not or no longer enrolled at an educational establishment. For such placements we offer a maximum compensation of €150,-, hours and tasks can be negotiated.
