12:00 – 14:00
On Friday 23 May at 12:00, galerie dudokdegroot hosts the book launch of Ilona Plaum, accompanied by a signing session and an artist talk about her work and exhibitions.
The artist will be interviewed and will tell about her work, her solo exhibition Presence at Huis Marseille, her book, and the current exhibition at the gallery.
Plaum is known for her ability to challenge perception through poetic, illusionistic compositions that merge three-dimensional models, paintings, and photography. Her work plays with paradoxes;, shifting surfaces into depths, turning backgrounds into foregrounds, and making shadows tangible. This interplay of reality and illusion is central to Presence, her first institutional solo exhibition at Huis Marseille, where she integrates the museum’s historic interiors into her work.
Her book, published by Jap Sam Books, provides a deeper insight into her artistic practice and includes texts by Hans den Hartog Jager and Ilona Plaum.
Join this special event at galerie dudokdegroot to celebrate Plaum’s latest publication and gain a unique perspective on her work.
