We are proud to present Got So Much To Tell You, the second solo exhibition opening at Galerie Bart featuring works by Sanne Maloe Slecht (1987, NL). While her first solo exhibition in 2021, Play Doh’s Cave, presented both sculptural work and paintings, the focus is now entirely on her practice of painting. Although her distinctive style, an effortless merging of the figurative and abstract, can still be recognised, Sanne Maloe is clearly forging a new path for herself.
The concept of the existence of parallel universes has long influenced her work. Her paintings have served as windows to other worlds, which in turn reveal other new windows to even more worlds. Wandering through these sometimes two-dimensional, at times three-dimensional landscapes, Sanne Maloe noticed that she was no longer interested in the endless possibilities that surrounded her. She realised that her inner world was just as vast a universe. That insight inspired her to start this new series.
