Bradwolff & Partners opens the new season with the solo exhibition “Recordings” by Iva Gueorguieva. The title refers to Gueorguieva’s process of rubbing, scratching and staining the canvas and gauze allowing the surface and the images to intertwine. “Recordings” is a conceptual commitment to the peripheral, the accidental, and the transient.

Iva Gueorguieva (b. 1974, Sofia, Bulgaria) lives and works in Los Angeles. She has held solo exhibitions at the Night Gallery, Benton Museum of Art, UTA Artist Space, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Her work is included in collections at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and the Art, Design and Architecture Museum at UC Santa Barbara. She has received grants such as the Howard Foundation Grant and the Pollock-Krasner Grant.

Assemblages
Carel Visser

In the gallery’s Bradwolff Backstage, the presentation Assemblages will feature the work of Carel Visser (1928–2015). Visser, a key figure in Constructivism, was known for his innovative approach to both sculpture and collage. In his work, he explored the possibilities of space and form, often crafting collages from magazine clippings that merge geometric shapes with abstract forms. Deeply inspired by nature, Visser incorporated materials like wood, wool, and sand, alongside industrial elements such as steel and concrete.

Visser’s work has been showcased in prominent museums, including the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and the Kröller-Müller Museum. His work is part of esteemed collections like those of the Rijksmuseum and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Visser’s significant impact on modern art has been seen recognized with numerous awards, including the Prix de Rome.
