Part of the airWG series
A man stops and closes his eyes. He covers his ears with the index fingers of both hands. He tilts his head upward and makes a sharp, muffled sound.
His body simultaneously contracts, and he lifts his right foot. The gesture resembles the beginning of a ritual, but it doesn’t progress further. It lasts six seconds. The cramp travels through his brain, his shoulders, his chest, the muscles of his arms and forearms, his abdomen, pelvis, thighs, and calves. He shows no sign of communication and continues on his way.
(Pau Masclans, 2024)
Pau Masclans presents scenarios where reality and abstraction rub against each other, causing the space to vibrate. His work is based on the manipulation of the physical through twists that lead to unintended outcomes, which contrast with everyday life.
During his residency at airWG, from September to December 2024, the Barcelona-born artist will present an open group of works titled KRAMP EN KRIMP (2024) at puntWG.
Exhibition opening: September 13, 17:00 – 20:00
