No Man’s Art Gallery cordially invites you to the group exhibition Las estrellas me iluminan al revés (the start illuminate me backwards). The exhibition consists of works by emerging Mexican artists, which NMAG previously showed during its tenth international pop-up gallery in Mexico City in November 2022.
Las estrellas me iluminan al revés shows work that relates to (dark) magic and (mis)fortune in historical, poetic, spiritual, ritual, personal or contemporary ways. Speculating on the forces of power, luck, death, doom, cleansing and spiritualism in contemporary life, the exhibition is an attempt to explore the rich, established tradition of telling oral histories of witchcraft and magic – stories that connect the complex Latin American, Indigenous and African cultures of Central America.
This exhibition includes work by Alejandro Galván, Alan Hernández, María Vez, Chavis Marmol, Carlos Martínez González, José Eduardo Barajas, Wendy Cabrera Rubio, RojoNegro collective (Noe Martinez Flores en Maria Sosa), Alejandra España and Ileana Moreno.
This exhibition extends to both gallery locations:
No Man’s Art Gallery KIOSK (Willem de Zwijgerlaan 327)
No Man’s Art Gallery & de bar (Bos en Lommerweg 88)
