Strange characters in mystifying landscapes are here to brighten the descent into fall, as ISO’s The Live Art Series returns! For the 9th iteration of the series, we’ve invited Gui B.B to our performance space, delighting us with the opportunity to experience her spellbinding queer cosmos on Saturday 1st of November! A half-human, half-amphibian faces the loss of its swamp. Memories return as screams, rhythms, and resonances — summoning what refuses to die. In this ninthmance, Gui B.B embraces “amphibian drag”: a haunted interface where figures glitch, overflow, and dissolve into a chorus of baroque iconography, pop culture, and punk ritual. Between queer myth and horror fable, the stage becomes a swampy site of disappearance, return, and speculative imagination: sticky, murky, defiantly alive. With Arnaud Rochefort-Allie.
Join us at ISO this Saturday and embrace the sludgy fantasy of Gui B.B !
* Doors open at 20:30
* Performance starts at 21:00.
* Music and drinks will follow
* Tickets are €12
Gui B.B is an artist based in Tio’tia:ke/Mooniyang (colonially known as Montreal). She works primarily in the field of experimental performance. Conceiving performance as a practice of world-building, Gui B.B deploys undisciplined performative statements in which theatricality, irony, and voice emerge as primary materials. By engaging in various forms of kinship while exploring a defiant dramaturgy of the body, her process brings forth possible reconfigurations of dominant narratives. Through a proliferation of object-gestures, she imagines playful “trans-fictions” — poetic narratives where a dissident mythology takes shape.
