Solo exhibition by Simnikiwe Buhlungu
This exhibition departs from Simnikiwe Buhlungu’s research points of cognisance, of which this moment visits puddles as bodies that have agency to speak to/alongside us. What is an ecosystem that lives in a puddle? What about a puddle that exists as a metaphorical pause? Buhlungu looks into the historical chronologies of puddles — and the circumstances that inform their presence — to introduce how different epistemologies and ways of knowing can be encountered and articulate something that would otherwise be ever so missable.
The exhibition will work in two parts: the exhibition in the main space of the gallery and the special performance event on June 4th alongside Negiste Yesside Johnson.
