“Amaryllis Switch – What if bacteria will construct a new habitat of our plastic waste” Ronald van der Meijs at Bradwolff Projects, Amsterdam Oost
Special Event: Sound performance on February 22, 16:00
After the successful opening on January 19, Ronald van der Meijs’ solo exhibition at Bradwolff Projects made an immediate impression. The exhibition, on view through March 1, explores how microorganisms convert plastic waste into a new ecosystem. Van der Meijs translates this concept into a powerful installation that brings together nature, technology and human impact in a visual and aural work.
Soundperformance – Saturday, Feb. 22, 4 p.m. (Walk-in 4 p.m., Start 4:30 p.m.)
Experience a unique performance merging art and sound. Electronically processed sounds from the plastic in the installation are combined with specially composed soundscapes. The rhythmic breathing of the installation continuously changes and transforms into new forms – a sonic metaphor for the plastisphere, the ecosystem of bacteria and algae that develops on ocean plastic.
The performance lasts 30 minutes. A seat cushion is recommended for your comfort.
Note: Limited seats available.
