Josilda da Conceição is delighted to announce the start of a new gallery season with the opening of the group exhibition Synonyms for Cardboard. The preview will begin on Friday, 6th September, with the official opening taking place on Saturday, 7th September.
Curated by Ruben Raven, this exhibition features collaboration with fellow artists Nathan Joshua Bastien and Vicente Baeza. Together, they embark on a creative journey to break away from their conventional artistic practices. By bringing together their diverse perspectives and ideas, they aim to create a dynamic dialogue between their unique artistic voices. Synonyms for Cardboard delves deeply into the idea of expressing similar concepts through different visual languages and media. Each artist brings their own distinctive approach and interpretation, resulting in a collection of works that both contrast and complement one another. Through this collaboration, the artists challenge themselves to think beyond their usual boundaries and to create new connections and narratives that reflect the flexibility and versatility of artistic expression.
