About the artist
Amanda Means (1945, US) is a graduate of Cornell University and SUNY Buffalo, and is a 2017 Guggenheim Fellow, awarded for her contribution to contemporary photography. She has exhibited widely and her work is included in numerous collections, including that of the Whitney Museum of American Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, among others. She is a master black-and-white printer, having printed professionally for Robert Mapplethorpe, Roni Horn, Francesca Woodman, and Petah Coyne. She has written for Bomb Magazine and is the Trustee of the John Coplans Trust.
