About the artist

Amanda Means (1945, US) is a graduate of Cornell University and SUNY Buffalo, and is a 2017 Guggenheim Fellow, awarded for her contribution to contemporary photography. She has exhibited widely and her work is included in numerous collections, including that of the Whitney Museum of American Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, among others. She is a master black-and-white printer, having printed professionally for Robert Mapplethorpe, Roni Horn, Francesca Woodman, and Petah Coyne. She has written for Bomb Magazine and is the Trustee of the John Coplans Trust.

Moderate tear, refurbished to be heard | Nadim Choufi & Johann Arens

Josilda da Conceição is pleased to present ‘Moderate tear, refurbished to be heard’, a duo exhibition where recent works by Johann Arens and Nadim Choufi are brought together. Both artists share a commitment to a poetic rendition of everyday materials that reinserts autonomy and agency. They each find tenderness in found language – ranging from furnishing and signages to lines of poetry – which they press, laminate, and rearrange to not only distill their meaning but also to remind us that redefining these artifacts, whether from public space or spoken language, is integral to our right to participate in shaping our neighborhoods, our collective ideologies, and the societal and spatial structures that underpin our ways of living.

Oude Kerk invites you to an adventurous live set by Torus on April 4 from 8:00-9:00 a.m.Torus, the alias of multidisciplinary artist Joeri Woudstra from The Hague, uses dance music as a means to critically reflect on the aesthetics and politics of pop culture. With his adventurous approach, he plays with the structures and forms of subgenres such as trance, electronic music, and hard styles, bringing a fresh and sharp perspective to every performance.With an impressive range of projects, from runway music for Bottega Veneta to art installations at documenta 14 and the New Museum in New York, Torus has made his mark on both the music and art worlds, spanning from Amsterdam to Tokyo. His latest album, “Summer Of Love”, can be experienced both as a chill-out mix and as a critical soundtrack of capitalism.

Liminal | Koen Kievits and Nara Kim

Enseoul is delighted to present Liminal, a duo exhibition featuring Koen Kievits (b. 1996, NL) and Nara Kim (b. 1998, KR) opening on Friday 14 March between 5 - 8 pm. Through distinct yet complementary practices, both artists explore the shifting boundaries of memory, materiality, and perception. The title, Liminal, refers to a state of transition—where the real and imagined blur and reform.
