Bradwolff Projects invites you to the opening of Traversing, an exhibition by Japanese artists Mayumi Nakazaki and Miku Sato, on 20 October from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bradwolff Projects. The exhibition runs until 3 November 2024.
In this collaboration, Mayumi Nakazaki and Miku Sato explore themes of memory, identity, and war through site-specific video installations. Mayumi Nakazaki, a graduate of the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, presents Mapping, which reveals stories from Tinian Island. Three women reflect on war and home, inviting the audience to consider the impact of historical events on individuals and communities.
Miku Sato, a graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts, offers a contemporary perspective on food culture and feminism with her installation Book and Fire, inspired by a classic Soviet cookbook. In this work, three women and a robot prepare borscht, sparking discussions on colonialism and conflict.
This exhibition provides space for contemplation on human connections and the impact of conflicts. Don’t miss the chance to experience it! We look forward to seeing you there!
