From 20-27 November the 35th edition of PAN Amsterdam, the fair in art, antiques and design, takes place in RAI Amsterdam. During the fair PAN Podium offers the visitors a varied programme full of inspiring talks and interactive presentations. The programming per day is centered around a different theme. All fair visitors are welcome to join. Just like last year, Amsterdam Art contributes to Pan Podium with two talks: Beyond the Trend: Engaging Contemporary Art from Africa and Women in Tech.

Contemporary art from the African continent has long been in high demand. The artists’ stories and the specific context of various regions are highlighted in TSA Contemporary Art’s publication Collector’s Series: Artists and Cities. Nina Folkersma, director of Amsterdam Art, talks with Bukola Oyebode, editor-in-chief of TSA Magazine, Carla Schulting, collector of contemporary art from Africa and artist Buhlebezwe Siwani.

The art world is becoming increasingly digital. Also on the art market, (female) artists are conquering new groups of buyers through the use of new media art. During this talk, organized by ArtTable Nederland, the networking organization for female professionals in the visual arts, in cooperation with Amsterdam Art, we talk with the co-founder en creative director Natasha Greenhalgh of Nxt Museum, and gallery manager Anne de Jong of Upstream Gallery about new media art in the art world.
