MAQAM is a creative space for local residents, talent and creatives. Our programme consists of concerts, presentations, exhibitions, rehearsals, workshops and master classes. In three inspiring rooms, various day- and evening programmes take place. From photography workshops to from photography workshops to concerts and from word art masterclasses with music rehearsals. The initiative for MAQAM is in the hands of three residents of stadsdeel West. Fouad Lakbir (storyteller), Yassine Boussaid (director Meervaart) and Mohamed Aadroun (Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra) have combined their expertise and strengths to realise the space together with partners such as Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam, Meervaart, Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra, Municipality of Amsterdam and CBRE Nederland.
