Have you been looking for a perfectly safe place to store your art works?
Have you been searching for the most solid crate?
Does the price of shipping your artwork make your head spin? Could there be new methods for shipping or moving art works?

In this last episode of Teotwawki, Corridor Project Space initiates an exhibition where traveling and transportation itself become part of the process.

A Future of Travel travels back in time to the 19th century when Wilhelmina Pakhuis used to be a warehouse where crates had their temporary homes. While transporting artworks for our project space in our luggage due to the exorbitant cost of shipping artworks, we got fascinated by the the whole industry of it.

For this exhibition, each artist will contribute artworks together with crates they have previously been shipped in. It will also share stories and anecdotes of each crate as well as the travels they have gone through. Experiences vary from art works mistaken for bombs to pieces being squeezed through a post box. Others use the crate itself as exhibition space or ship a piece of luggage filled with various objects as self-presentation. All these different forms lead to thinking of new formats of travel. The project is a collection of experiences for the public to unravel.

Once a year, Corridor intends to collaborate with another project space from abroad. In 2018, we kick off the first of these projects with Noks Independent Art Space from Istanbul.

In September 2018, the Corridor team will travel to Istanbul to complete the second part of this project at NOKS Art Shipping Agency.
