The film Brussels, 2016 is a poetic political diary-esque portrait of the Belgian capital by the Dutch-Korean filmmaker Sara Sejin Chang (Sara van der Heide). In an imaginary conversation, Sara shows her Korean mother, who she doesn't know, her life in the modern western city, which seems to be made up of different worlds. Various global realities come together: the xenophobia after the attacks, poverty, the displacement of refugees, and the threat of the collapse of the European Union. After Sara falls in love with a woman, she decides to stay in Brussels.
