Kunstverein is a curatorial office, a domestic franchise and an impress that offers presentations, lectures, screenings, touring exhibitions and independent publishing. The conceptual focus that binds Kunstverein’s pluriform activities is the relation between domesticity, self-organization, social commitment and bravery in art production. The key principles that have driven the formation of Kunstverein are ‘necessity’ and ‘urgency’ in artistic production. This agenda led us to the position of a smaller presentation venue that shows progressive work on a concentrated scale and with a careful, investigative attitude.
