On Saturday, 24 May, during Amsterdam Art Week, a powerful performance film will be presented at Het Salon, exploring the fragility of our ecosystems and the balance between nature and humans. Music and nature are about diversity, harmony, and balance – but under too much pressure, everything risks falling apart.

In this performance film, a children’s string quartet becomes a living symbol of ecosystems under strain. As invisible forces tighten their strings, the tension builds—reflecting the fragile tipping points of our planet. Through Greek mythology, dance, and classical music, this work explores the fine line between resilience and collapse.

The film will be accompanied by a fascinating lecture by environmental scientist René van Westen on ocean current tipping points and a hopeful message from EcoJustice about holding the perpetrators of ecocide accountable.
