For the first time in their history, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam are joining forces to present a major joint exhibition of one of the most important artists of our time: Anselm Kiefer. The exhibition will also be visible during the Amsterdam Art Week 2025, between 20 and 25 May.
The artist is given a place of honor in this two-part exhibition, which highlights his special connection to the work of Vincent van Gogh for the first time, and showcases all of Kiefer’s beloved works from the Stedelijk’s collection. Both locations will also feature new works by the artist that have never been exhibited before. Anselm Kiefer – Sag mir wo die Blumen sind tells a unique story about Kiefer’s development as an artist. This two-part exhibition is a continuous experience for visitors: one admission ticket grants access to both museums.
