Newhouse Gallery presents Liminal Nature – Where Boundaries Dissolve, a group exhibition centred around the transformative installation Nature’s Visual Sound by Sandra Keja Planken. This immersive work invites viewers into a liminal world where nature and humanity intertwine, challenging perceptions of space, materiality, and coexistence. The opening will take place during the Festive Gallery Night as part of Amsterdam Art Week 2025.

Sandra Keja Planken’s work breaks conventional boundaries by combining textile and glass in collaboration with the Dutch Textile Museum and the National Glass Museum. Organic forms—reminiscent of coral, seaweed, and alien plant life—unfold across walls and ceilings, creating a dynamic interplay between the artificial and the organic. The installation reflects on the fluidity of nature, resilience, and the delicate balance between construction and decay.

In addition to Sandra Keja Planken, the exhibition features works by Floor Merjenburg, Mickey Philips, Santiago Pani, Sanne Terweij, Rive Roshan, Teun Zwets, Tess van Zalinge, and Willem Zwiers—each exploring themes of transformation, materiality, and the shifting dialogue between nature and the built environment.

Through sculpture, installation, and mixed media, Liminal Nature dissolves the boundaries between art and life, architecture and nature, inviting viewers to step into a world in constant flux.
