Visit CBK Zuidoost’s artist-in-residence Nseabasi Akpan during this special studio visit on Friday 23 May. The location is at BijlmAIR residency.

In his studio at Heesterveld, he is working on an art project to connect the Nigerian community in the Bijlmer with Nigerians who have returned to Nigera after living abroad. With their stories and experiences, he wants to emphasize the contrast between the dream of traveling to Europe and the harsh reality. In addition, he wants to explore the current reality of Nigerians in Amsterdam Southeast.

Nseabasi Akpan is a photographer and an advocate for youth empowerment – he uses photography as a medium of expression and communication for positive social change.
