On Saturday and Sunday , during the Amsterdam Art Week 2025, join Framer Framed for the vibrant finissage of Past Disquiet. Throughout the day, they offer a rich programme of workshops, cultural exchanges, and critical conversations reflecting the themes of resistance, solidarity, and creativity.

Find the detailed overview of the programme on each day below.

Saturday Programme Overview

  • 14:00–15:30 | Talk: The Art of Arpilleras & Warmi Küyen Collective
Framer Framed invites the Warmi Küyen Textile Collective for a conversation with Aida Moreno, who will share her extensive experience in organising Arpilleras workshops. These workshops, which began in 1974 and continue today at the Casa de la Mujer de Huamachuco (the Women’s House of Huamachuco), are an essential part of the community. Beautiful Arpillera designs will be exhibited and available for purchase throughout the weekend, with proceeds supporting female makers and defenders of freedom of expression.
  • 16:00–17:00 | Curators’ Tour: Artistic Solidarity in Amsterdam
Join the final tour, led by the curators and researchers of Past Disquiet. This edition of Past Disquiet places special emphasis on the history of artistic solidarity within the Netherlands, particularly in Amsterdam, where many solidarity organisations were based. It explores how international movements of the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s — such as the anti-apartheid and Chilean resistance movements — were supported by local activists. The exhibition celebrates the creativity and lasting influence of these movements.
  • 15:00–20:00 | Cultural Mini-Bazaar: Flavours and Crafts by Tabaria Café
Framer Framed invites pop-up Tabaria Café to create a mini-bazaar with food, drinks, goods, and solidarity items on the mezzanine of Framer Framed. Tabaria Café is dedicated to helping displaced Palestinian people reconnect with their heritage while honouring and preserving Palestinian culture.

Sunday Programme Overview

  • 11:00–12:00 (Dutch) | Family Workshop: In het woud is er veel te doen
An intergenerational, hands-on workshop inspired by the animation En la selva hay mucho por hacer. Families will create ‘cocoons of hope’ for a collective Jungle Tree, exploring themes of resilience, connection, and protection through chalk prints, collage, and natural materials.
  • 13:00–14:00 (English) | Family Workshop: In the woods there is much to do
The same joyful workshop in English, inviting families to collaboratively craft and dream.
  • 12:00–18:00 | Cultural Mini Bazaar: Tabaria Café
Experience a vibrant cultural pop-up by Tabaria Café, with food, drinks, artisanal goods, and solidarity items celebrating Palestinian heritage and supporting communities in exile.
  • 12:00–16:00 | Print Workshop: Solidarity in Action
Bring your own clothing or totebags to customise with striking designs made by Farah Fayyad (graphic designer of Past Disquiet) in collaboration with Plaatsmaken Arnhem. Free of charge, with donations welcome.
  • 15:00–16:30 | Panel Talk: Researching and Exhibiting Solidarity Archives
Scholars and curators Sanjukta Sunderason, Elizabeth Harney, Rasha Salti, and Kristine Khouri discuss transnational art histories, decolonisation, and how solidarity movements are remembered and exhibited. Moderated by Eszter Szakács.
