Galerie Ron Mandos and Atelier Van Lieshout are joining forces for a new pop-up exhibition, Me Is Designer, at Lensvelt during Amsterdam Art Week 2025. The pop-up exhibition Me Is Designer is the latest chapter in Van Lieshout’s ongoing search for the essence of creation. The artist has long resisted the established art circuit. From the beginning of his career, he positioned himself as an outsider and considered everything a potential work of art – tools, machines, sculptures, furniture, kitchens and even toilets. His works arose out of circumstance rather than strict plans and he rejected three classic pillars of art: uniqueness, authenticity and non-functionality.
