Enseoul Gallery Welcomes 2025 with Susurrous, a Solo Exhibition by Bohyeon Hwang
On Friday 17 January, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, the opening reception of Susurrous will take place. The evening promises to be a celebration of art, engaging conversations, and a toast to the New Year.
Bohyeon Hwang (b. 1992, South Korea) explores the boundaries of perception in her work. She strips objects of their familiar functionality and context, presenting them as enigmatic entities within undefined planes. This deliberate ambiguity invites viewers to rethink their relationship with the everyday and the overlooked.
With a keen sensitivity to texture, Hwang captures the tactile allure of materials such as felt, corduroy, and velvet, giving her canvases a sensory depth. Her objects seem to float within ambiguous spaces, prompting reflections on the interplay between the physical and the intangible.
Titled Susurrous, the exhibition embodies the subtle yet profound whispers of the objects Hwang animates on her canvases. As the artist herself states: “Objects lose their weight and function, becoming entities that float—elusive yet within reach. My work seeks to explore this paradox, inviting curiosity and reflection.”
The gallery invites art enthusiasts to discover this remarkable exhibition and enjoy an evening filled with art and wonder.
