On 10th January, B&P opens its doors for the exhibition Sammelsurium, a presentation of artworks from a special private collection that the collector has dedicated many years to, with great passion. Releasing this collection is both an emotional and exciting process for the collector. The interplay of carefully gathered works from artists of various periods and artistic backgrounds has always created inspiring and artistic dialogues within the private sphere. Now, it is time for the collection to spread its wings, make new connections with other collections, or form the foundation for a new collection to be created. It is therefore an exciting moment to bring the collection out of the sheltered space of a private collection and engage with the wider artistic world.
To break open this unique and personal perspective on the collection, B&P has invited several curators who, over the course of the exhibition, will engage in a new dialogue with the works every two weeks. They will add and remove pieces, and initiate new dialogues between the works by presenting them in different arrangements. This offers a unique opportunity to visit the exhibition multiple times and gain fresh insights.
In addition to the exhibition, Bradwolff & Partners will host events such as a lecture, a panel discussion about the dynamics between art and collecting, and a live performance that will further bring the exhibition to life. A curator-led tour will also be organised, providing deeper insight into the interplay between the artworks and their changing context.
