Amsterdam’s art calendar just got a lot more exciting. From 17–20 September, two art fairs land on the same weekend, the perfect excuse to spend a few days immersed in emerging and independent art.
NAP+ | Third Edition
After a successful season opening, we’re looking forward to our next stop: NAP+.
Founded by David van Doesburg (Stigter van Doesburg) and Sara Lang (LANGart), NAP+ is a boutique art fair built to give emerging and mid-career artists, curators, and galleries a platform to thrive, driven by inclusivity, innovation, and community. Where larger fairs can overwhelm with sheer scale, NAP+ deliberately keeps things intimate, giving visitors room to engage more deeply with the work on show.
This year, NAP+ brings together 56 galleries with the fair described as full of galleries, artists, visitors, collectors, conversations, and always something to look at, someone to speak to, somewhere to go next.
Participating galleries include Althuis Hofland Fine Arts, Borzo Gallery, Bradwolff & Partners, Caroline O’Breen, Galerie Fontana, Homecoming Gallery, Josilda da Conceição, Lumen Travo, mad meg, Madé van Krimpen, Martin van Zomeren, m.simons, No Man’s Art Gallery, ROZENSTRAAT – a rose is a rose is a rose, Slewe Gallery, South Asian Contemporary Art, Stigter Van Doesburg, tegenboschvanvreden, Upstream Gallery, Vriend van Bavink Gallery, Working Title, and more.
NAP+ takes place at De Centrale Markthal, from 17–20 September.
UNFAIR26
With 44 emerging and established artists presenting new work in solo shows, plus an extensive public programme, UNFAIR26 is where artists, professionals, and enthusiasts meet to discover, connect, and collect.
Founded in 2012, Unfair is built on an artist-first philosophy, connecting emerging and renowned artists directly with art lovers through solo presentations. Get to know the artists personally during the events. Browse their profiles beforehand to start discovering who you’ll meet.
Throughout the fair, there is a range of talks and performances including interviews, interactive performances, live conversations between artists and collectors, and special reveals of new art.
In collaboration with The Collectors Circle, free guided tours are encouraged to delve into the artistic process and inspiration behind the artists’ presentations and to explore the exhibition space designed by Studio Verter.
This year, Dear Books, Amsterdam’s newest art book fair, is bringing its first edition to UNFAIR26. This first edition brings together the work of 60 publishers and independent art book makers from around the world, selected through an open call.
From 17–20 September, UNFAIR takes place at the Gashouder in Amsterdam, making it the perfect stop to combine with your visit to NAP+.
