Amsterdam Art Week returns this November with a new edition, running from 18 to 22 November 2026, and with it a renewed In Depth Programme.
About the In Depth Programme
The In Depth Programme is where Amsterdam Art Week slows down. Across roughly fifteen carefully curated events, studio visits, curator-led conversations, previews and other closed encounters, it creates space for art professionals, collectors, curators and press to look closer at the work and the people behind it, beyond what a single gallery visit or opening night allows.
This year, the programme carries a new name. What was previously known as the VIP Programme is now the In Depth Programme, a change that reflects what the programme has always actually been about. The value was never in exclusivity for its own sake, but in the access it offers to context: the chance to hear a curator talk through their choices, to see a studio mid-process, to ask questions that don’t fit into a five-minute gallery conversation. In Depth names that more precisely, and moves away from a term that suggested status rather than substance.
The programme is developed in close collaboration with the Rijksakademie and DutchCulture, and this year specifically targets international curators, collectors and press, building on Amsterdam’s position as a place where serious engagement with contemporary art happens, not just where it’s shown.
Roosje Nieman is leading the In Depth Programme this year. Having previously managed the VIP programme, she brings continuity as well as fresh direction, and she’ll be the first point of contact for anyone with questions about the programme.
We look forward to welcoming you to Amsterdam Art Week, 18–22 November 2026.
Warmly,
Amsterdam Art Week Team
