The new project space Mad Meg in Amsterdam is named after the English title of this painting. Directly opposite Pierre Cuypers’ Neo-Gothic Dominicus Church, the young collective of the same name—consisting of three former art academy and art history students—has established itself in a double seventeenth-century building on Spuistraat. In the former sex rooms of the brothel that was located here until recently, they present work by twenty young artists.
