Stigter van Doesburg, based in the Amsterdam Jordaan area, shows a varied program of contemporary art. We embrace all media – from painting till performance – and have a strong representation of female artists. Although women are picking up in museums, there still is a long way to go. Since its founding in 2001, the gallery has focused on young individuals and their place in the current discourse. What makes an artist truthful, gives it a voice of one own? Being in business for over twenty years the program ranges from mid-career – as we thrive for long term relationships – to new generations of artists and their love for experiment. There always is space for young offspring.
