Milou Deelen is a journalist, writer, and speaker. In 2015, Milou went viral with a video in which she spoke out against slut-shaming at the student association of which she was a member, after which she entered journalism. She currently writes for publications such as Het Parool, Volkskrant Magazine (where she has a regular section), AD, and LINDA.meiden. She covers a wide range of topics, but feminism is a recurring theme in her work.

Milou Deelen has written three books. She just launched her third book Gelukkig Gelabeld (2025) about mental health. Krabben (2020), which she co-authored with Daan Borrel, explores the phenomenon of the “crab bucket effect”: why women tend to judge each other. Her second book, ‘Hoe doen we het?’ (2022), is an exploration of women’s sex lives. She often gives lectures about her work and frequently participates in panels. She also regularly hosts and moderates events on societal issues.

Milou Deelen is often described as one of the leading figures of a new generation of young feminists. Last year, she and her mother, writer Barbara van Beukering, launched ‘Deel&Beuk’ – an online course for aspiring journalists.
