Tegenboschvanvreden warmly invites you to the opening of It Takes Three to Tango at the gallery on Saturday, 18 January, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, in the presence of the artists.

The tango is not just a dance, but a feeling. It is said that if you ask any Argentine tango dancer about the origins of this sensual dance, they will tell you that the tango existed before the music. There are many stories about the origins of the tango, but in all of them, the tango seems to express the desire to embrace the other. The tango is a social dance, a partner dance.

In the exhibition It Takes Three to Tango, the works of three artists—Vicente Baeza (1992, CL), Chaim van Luit (1985, NL), and Dieuwke Spaans (1973, NL)—are shown together. Although their works are different, they are connected by the idea of space they evoke. The interaction between the individual pieces flows through the sometimes literal layering of materials, the rhythm in the presentation, the combination of lightness and weight, and the magnetic pull of feeling. In It Takes Three to Tango, imagination is the measure of action.
