From January 26 till June 8, OSCAM presents an exhibition about the iconic hip hop café De Duivel. In addition to being a brown pub where people of all walks of life meet, De Duivel is a creative breeding ground and open stage. Since 1992 pioneers of the hip-hop scene have been connecting, collaborating and experimenting here. Think of names such as Karin Amatmoekrim, Andreas Urhahn and of course our own Marian Duff.
“Space” has meaning beyond the physical. One that is alive, and ever-evolving. An exhibition space, among many things, allows a maker and a work to develop and exist within a particular context. But how can space be understood at a project space–particularly when strategies of being on show are part of its core investigation?

We exist in the wake of the entire world. In the exhibition entitled Big Fortune, the artists think against the hubris of individuality as a given, opting rather to be in community all the while thinking of what constitutes fortune. In an attempt to be in conversation in an intimate space like Woonhuis, the second year participants of De Ateliers bring together works and thoughts-in-progress. De festive opening is on December 6, 18:00 - 20:00.

Taking Root Among the Stars, an exhibition presented by Müge Yılmaz and Anna Hoetjes, builds on the legacy of Octavia E. Butler’s Parable of the Sower and explores alternative futures and social realities. The exhibition brings together artists and writers who use science fiction to raise critical questions about our society, with a focus on feminist, trans, queer, and decolonial perspectives.
