Amsterdam Art Week 2025: A Must-See for Art Enthusiasts
The 13th edition of Amsterdam Art Week will take place from 20th to 25th May 2025. During these six days, Amsterdam will be fully immersed in contemporary art, with over 200 events organised by 72 participants. Visitors will discover the latest exhibitions in galleries and museums and get acquainted with emerging art initiatives in various districts of the city.
Highlights of Amsterdam Art Week 2025
An important part of Amsterdam Art Week is the collaboration with the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten – an international, multidisciplinary residency programme for artists. This year, the Open Studios will once again open their doors, offering visitors an exclusive behind-the-scenes look and the opportunity to discover the work of promising artists.
In addition, there will be large-scale exhibitions at iconic locations such as Oude Kerk, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Foam, Amsterdam Museum, Eye Filmmuseum, and Nxt Museum. The programme will feature works by renowned artists such as Pamela Rosenkranz, Kim Sooja, and Augusta Curiel, alongside established names like Anselm Kiefer and Formafantasma. Further details on the exhibitions will be announced soon.
Special Focus: Amsterdam West
As with previous editions, Amsterdam Art Week will once again shine a spotlight on a specific district. In 2025, this will be Amsterdam West – from Westerpark and Oud-West to Sloterdijk and Bos en Lommer. This district is rapidly developing into a creative hub for artists and cultural initiatives, with a dynamic mix of galleries, studios, and art projects.
To mark the opening, Amsterdam Art, in collaboration with ArtTable NL, will host an exclusive symposium. The programme will be announced in March.
