
After months of preparations behind the scenes, we are thrilled to announce that the public programme of Amsterdam Art Week 2023 is now live! From 31 May to 4 June, Amsterdam Art Week will transform the capital into an international hub for art lovers, collectors, art professionals and artists. Visitors are invited to discover the most fascinating art(ists) at more than 50 locations across the city: from renowned galleries, residencies and museums to new institutions and experimental project spaces.
5 days, 80 programmes, 50 locations, more than 150 artists, 35.000 visitors. During the five-day event, you can explore some of the city’s most captivating art at more than 50 locations across town. Amsterdam Art Week presents a varied programme of exhibitions, openings, performances, screenings, lectures, and artist talks. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

Our mission is to connect and promote Amsterdam’s contemporary art climate focused on its artists and institutions. With the greater goal of strengthen the city’s artistic ecosystem and making it accessible to both local and international audiences.
During Amsterdam Art Week, we transform the city into a meeting place for artists, art lovers, professionals and collectors. By bringing our network together, we facilitate valuable encounters and connections. We encourage and develop overarching collaborations between institutions and artists through special programmes and events. By doing so, we create visibility for both contemporary institutions and artists and strengthen the cultural value of the city of Amsterdam.

Exhibition Openings – Friday 2 June
Across the 5 days, Amsterdam Art Week hosts a wide range of different exhibition openings, with brand new exhibitions from a diverse pool of up-and-coming and established artists, solo exhibitions and group shows. On Friday 2 June at 16:00 all galleries open for the public with celebratory opening drinks to showcase the newly exhibiting artists. Visitors are invited to join gallery tours or explore what the art week has to offer in the city, by foot or by hopping on a bike.

Rijksakademie Open Studios
The Amsterdam Art Week kicks off in a celebratory fashion on Thursday, hosting a joint VIP opening with the Rijksakademie Open Studios. The Open Studios offer the opportunity to get an insight into the next generation of artists on the cusp of wider international breakthrough. During the event Amsterdam acts as a magnet, attracting international artists and (young) creative talent from across the globe.

Artist Specials – Saturday 3 & Sunday 4 June
Galleries, project spaces, museums, and residencies will showcase the latest developments in contemporary art through a diverse range of exhibitions as well as through an extensive special programme consisting of performances, screenings, lectures, artists’ talks, book launches and more.
Alongside the Public Programme, Amsterdam Art has an extensive VIP programme for art professionals and collectors.
