Nadia Abdelkaui is Curator of Modern Art at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, where she is responsible for research into the collection, new acquisitions, and the development of exhibitions.
She has a strong interest in the social role of art and explores how existing norms and perspectives within the art world can be questioned. In her role, she is committed to critically examining and deepening the understanding of institutional structures and colonial histories.
In addition to her work at the Stedelijk, Abdelkaui serves as an advisor for the Creative Industries Fund NL and is a board member of the Van Eesteren Museum in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. Previously, she held positions as curator at the Groninger Museum, curator at Museum Het Schip, and various roles at the Centraal Museum in Utrecht. Through her broad expertise and interdisciplinary approach, she aims to highlight new narratives and perspectives within the art sector and to give a platform to underrepresented voices.
