Toby Üpson is a writer and project manager based in Glasgow, with over ten years of experience working across the visual arts as well as in the public, private, and third sectors. His practice is rooted in critical thinking, creative writing, and collaborative learning, often moving between editorial, curatorial, and educational contexts.

His first collection of poems will be published by La chaise jaune in spring 2025. Alongside his writing, Üpson is the writing mentor for What Could Should Curating Do’s education programme, where he supports emerging practitioners in developing their voice and critical approach.

His texts have been published in Art Monthly, e-flux Education, émergent magazine, FAD_, Frieze, Garageland, and the Whitney Review, among others.
